On this thrilling 2-hour guided safari you will see all our predators – lions, wild dogs, and cheetahs. Our knowledgeable guides will take you through the antelope safari area, and the lion, wild dogs, and cheetah enclosures. Enjoy a guided game drive through our park in one of our game drive trucks while our guides share interesting facts about the animals.

I went to Lion and Safari Park with my best friend, for my golden 24th birthday, on the 24th of June 2026. I've always wanted to go there and it was nothing short of AMAZING! Our tour guide was Dusty and she was very knowledgeable about each and every animal group that she took us on tour on. Please tell her she was awesome. It was good seeing the 3 types of lion groups, learning about the difference between wild dogs and hyenas and also witnessing the feeding of the animals and a lion's roar! It was good seeing the zebras as well, impala, wildebeest, the cheetah and many others. It was my first time seeing a Black Panther, it was such a surreal experience for me! My knowledge on animals definitely increased since my visit to the park. Also, is Purdy still pregnant? And if not, what's her baby's name? On arrival make your way to reception to sign in, and you will then be met by one of our Safari guides, and taken up to our horses 30 minutes before the trail time. You will meet your horse, fit your helmet, and be taken off on your adventure for a one-hour horse ride around our park with spectacular views, and wildlife. On return, you will be escorted back in the Safari vehicle by your guide to reception.
*This is a 1 hour and 30 minutes experience. (The ride itself is 1 hour walking trail)
No horse riding experience is required to join on a one-hour horse safari. Beginner riders will do walking only. Experienced riders will do trotting and canter.
NB: Please arrive 30 minutes before your horseback safari start time, in order to not keep horses and other riders waiting.
*Please note- that on no trails do we gallop our horses whatsoever.
You are to stay behind our guide at all times for the safety of our horses and the guests.
*WEIGHT LIMIT: 85kg MAX. We have full discretion to cancel a trial with no refund if you are over 85kg on arrival. Please make sure to complete the manifest indicating your weight category and riding experience after you have completed the payment.
*No pregnant ladies allowed to ride.
*You are encouraged to bring carrots or apples to thank your trusted steed.

I went on the horseback riding safari and it was honestly one of the best things I did on our trip. Such an incredible experience riding through the African landscape on horseback and seeing the animals from such a different perspective. It felt peaceful, exciting, and really special.
