Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before participating in any hiking activity organized by AdventureGate at De Wildt Adventure Trails. By participating in our hikes, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Booking and Payment:
1.1. To secure your reservation, full payment is required at the time of booking.
1.2. All prices are quoted in South African RANDS and include any applicable taxes.
1.3. Payments can be made through Activitar
1.4. Any additional costs incurred during the hike, such as souvenirs or optional activities, are the responsibility of the participant.

Cancellations and Refunds:
2.1. Cancellations made 4 days prior to the hike are eligible for a full refund.
2.2. Cancellations made less than 4 days of the hike are not eligible for a refund.
2.3. AdventureGate reserves the right to cancel or reschedule hikes due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund or rescheduling options will be provided to participants.
2.4. * The dates on which Good Friday and Easter Sunday fall are determined according to the ecclesiastical moon. That varies each year but they fall at some point between late March and late April.

**The Public Holidays Act (Act No 36 of 1994 [PDF]) determines whenever any public holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday following it shall be a public holiday

Participant Requirements:
3.1. Participants must be in good physical condition and able to undertake the hike.
3.2. Participants must follow the guidance of AdventureGate staff and adhere to safety instructions.
3.3. AdventureGate reserves the right to refuse participation to individuals who, in the judgment of our staff, may pose a risk to themselves or others.

Liability and Assumption of Risk:
4.1. Hiking activities can be physically demanding and involve risks. Participants assume all risks associated with hiking, including but not limited to accidents, injuries, and loss of personal property.
4.2. AdventureGate and De Wildt Adventure Trails are not liable for any injuries, damages, losses, of any kind, or expenses incurred before, during, or after the hike.
4.3. Participants are required to sign a waiver of liability before participating in the hike.

Health and Safety:
5.1. Participants are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, allergies, or other health concerns to AdventureGate before the hike.
5.2. AdventureGate staff will carry basic first aid equipment, but participants are responsible for their own medications and medical supplies.

Environmental Responsibility:
6.1. Participants are expected to respect the environment and local wildlife during the hike. Littering and damaging the natural surroundings are strictly prohibited.
6.2. Fires, smoking, and alcohol consumption are not allowed during the hike.

Photography and Media:
7.1. AdventureGate reserves the right to take photographs or videos during the hike for promotional purposes. By participating, you permit us to use your likeness in such materials.

Privacy:
8.1. AdventureGate will collect personal information for bookings and safety. We will not share your information with third parties without your consent.

Changes to Terms and Conditions:
9.1. AdventureGate reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website.

Governing Law:
10.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.

By participating in any hike organized by AdventureGate at De Wildt Adventure Trails, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
