Guests are guided on foot through The Elephant Sanctuary.
Guides will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants. You will be introduced to our elephants in the forest area, and here you will be able to touch and interact with the elephants. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of it. Walk amongst our elephants in the bush and see the Elephant Night Shelters. Guests learn about elephant anatomy and are able to feed them.
Remember to wear flat walking shoes, sun hats and bring your camera.

The Elephant Sanctuary was an amazing experience!! Our whole group was SO happy to have made sure it was on out to do while visiting South Africa. Our guide was attentive, knowledgeable, and funny. He made sure we were safe and had a great time. The caretakers were patient with everyone while we took pictures with the elephants. Visiting the Elephant Sanctuary was truly a remarkable experience. I learned so much about elephants and had the incredible opportunity to interact with them and touch them. I felt such a genuine connection with these beautiful animals --- I have never experienced such a close connection with a wild animal before. The staff were absolutely wonderful: welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the elephants and the work they do. They made the whole experience even more special. I genuinely feel that more people need to know about this place. I live in Johannesburg and only discovered the Elephant Sanctuary because I happened to be searching online. This place is an absolute gem, and I don't think it is being marketed or advertised nearly enough. More people should know that an experience like this is right on our doorstep. My children absolutely loved it too and said it was the best part of their August holiday --- which says everything! This is truly an experience that everyone should have at least once.
