A truly amazing morning. Touching and brushing the elephants is an experience I won't easily forget. Feeding the monkeys and seeing how they scoop up food at the end and run off on two legs was so funny. The staff were all friendly and our guides were knowledgeable. Well worth a visit. - Wendy

Absolutely amazing! I was so excited to be able to touch an elephant. This sanctuary is well maintained and the animals are healthy and well cared for. The guides and handlers are well trained and the elephants are not forced to do anything but encouraged. We feed, brushed and got a change to touch several parts of the elephant one at a time. After our visit with the elephants we went to the co-located monkey sanctuary. I was very impress with the cleanliness and size of the monkey area. We were given a feed trough with food. We walked perhaps a mile in the enclosure while monkeys jumped on and off the bucket getting food. There were several different types of monkeys and some lemurs. The enclosure is so large we crossed a creek, two hanging bridges, walked by rock formations and on raised walk ways. This is a must see. It is about 1 hour from Johannesburg. We bought our tickets through the sanctuary and hired a driver to take us there from our hotel. - Tamara
